At the Library in town they have been having free Chinese painting classes. They are taught by the most adorable old Chinese man. He's absolutely amazing. This week we learned how to paint Chrysanthemums, but he couldn't pronounce it, so he just called them mums.
These paintings were done by one of his friends. There has been another Chinese woman who has been coming, she's a little more fluent in English. She was describing the painting. The poem to the left is illustrated by the image on the right. The story was beautiful. About the a town as the sun was setting. And a bell was being rung. The fishermen were coming in, the birds are flying off into the night. It was beautiful and so amazing to hear the poem and see it illustrated.
Did I mention he plays the flute too. Talented people are AMAZING. I wish I was as diverse.
