a day in the park.

While babysitting on a beautiful seventy degree March day I took the kids to the park. It is the same park that I grew up in, but it has changed so much. More then just growing up and going back and everything seeming so small.

One summer when I was little my parents helped to build a wooden castle type playground. It was the most amazing thing ever! All the kids of the people who donated their time got to play on the playground first. It was so much fun to go back to that playground time after time. It was an absolutely magical place. Quite a few years ago, they tore down that park. They replaced it with a new one, but it isn't the same.

Little boys + Baseball field = playing with dirt. Life is good. 

I always like to see what little things are hidden in the park. 

Like a kite that is stuck in a tree, it didn't look like it had been there for long.
When I see things like this I always wonder who lost the kite, how did it get stuck in the tree. What is the story?

Or branches agains a blank sky... The world is full of so many beautiful things. So much to see.

The MET in the Rain.

Wednesday, it rained. But rain stops nothing in the city. I enjoyed the rainy afternoon in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I always love getting lost in museums, and the MET is the perfect place to get lost. there are so many corridors and galleries, rooms and hallways. It's so easy to get turned around and confused. I love it. Sometimes it can get frustrating, when you are actually looking for something in particular. But overall it makes for a fun adventure.

Going to museums means meeting old friends, and making new ones. Each artist puts some of their self into each piece, it's like meeting a part of the artist each time.  It's always fun to see what an artist will come up with next. What new part of them will you be introduced to.

Yeah Egypt! The MET opened up a really cool room with lots of natural light. It's so wonderful to see the Egyptian Statues in beautiful natural light. 

The period rooms can be fun. To see how life was once lived, to see how furniture has changed, and how it stays the same.
