stromboli dinner

What an adventure it is to make dinner.

To go with dinner I made home made breadsticks. It's a Flat bread recipe, I added some fresh basil. They were amazing, just the right amount of crunch and softness. So good. (The recipe is at the bottom of this post.)

I love crackers and cheese, and any excuse to have them out is well worth it. The oranges were a surprising favorite. Everyone ate them up!

For most of the night it was just me and six guys. It reminded me of college, but with a different group of guys. Even thought this apartment is small, it's so much fun to have it full of people. Somehow it just seems to stretch and happily accommodate everyone.

This was a particular interesting adventure, because I made Stromboli, but here's the catch. Everyone brought their own ingredients. Mushrooms, tomatos, meats and cheese, broccoli and peppers. It was very fun. Everyone was very happy with their Stromboli creations.

The Stromboli cooking filled the apartment with such a wonderful smell. Everyone's mouth was watering while they baked.

Everything turned out beautiful. The breadsticks were my favorite.

For desert I made brownies, got ice cream and all kinds of fun toppings.  Marshmallows and Gummy Bears, chocolate chips and M&M's.  Over all it was a great night. Everyone went home happy and full.

pie and other food.

Last Thursday, I made dinner for friends. But I failed on the taking picture front. But I did take pictures of the pie, which of course was the most important part. The crust was the so frustrating, so I had to get a little creative. The top of the apple pie got a lot of complements. I think it turned out very pretty. Then there was the chocolate pie, which was absolutely amazing!

And then I fail on taking pictures. I made goulash, for dinner and Mark bought a great loaf of bread. And for desert, there was the pie and I also dipped some oranges in chocolate. Over all it was a great success. I got a lot of complements. I'm not sure if they were all justified, but I'm glad everyone enjoyed everything all the same.

Banana Bread

This morning my mom asks me if I wanted to make her Banana Bread. (I say YUCK!) I asked if she had a recipe or if I had to find one. She didn't have one, so I pulled out my good ol' Betty Crocker cook book that my grandma gave me when I turned 15 and I found one.

Mom didn't want the nuts, so I just omitted the ingredient.

All in all, I did a pretty good job!

easy as pie.

I love making pie, particularly the crust. (I know, it's weird)
So my mom and I combined make amazing pies! Mom makes the inside and I make amazing flakey crusts.

Cookie cutters are one of the best ways to decorate a pie. I particularly love using stars!

and don't forget the cheese with your pie. YUM!
